Hey everyone! In my last post I got the Tarteist Pro Glow Pallet. A few of you were interested in a review and I’m very happy to oblige! First let me tell you how I would “grade” a makeup product: Quality, packaging, price, color choice, versatility and how often I would actually use the product. Seems like a lot for just “makeup” but I feel like if your going to add something to a well picked makeup collection it better be worth it!
Quality: The color pay off is beautiful! There is not a lot of fallout or dust if you will. A little goes a long way. These highlighters are buildable and blendable
Packaging: The packaging gets an ‘A’ for sure. Its matte with gold writing, I’m mean how chic. It’s very well made and has a different type of packaging compare to most face palettes which makes me very happy!
Price: Well this product is around the $45 dollar mark. Pricey yes but I believe with six colors its worth it.
Color choice: The color choice is amazing! They are beautiful. You get four highlight shades in very different tones. You also get a creme contour shade as well as a lighter powder contour shade! I think that’s a bonus.
Versatility: I could wear these colors with everything! Six colors mean lots of versatility.
How often will I actually wear this palette? Well so far I’ve only owned this pallet for a six days and I’ve used it everyday! Id say I’m going to wear it very often.
My final thoughts is that this product is completely worth it. Especially if your just starting out or like to keep your collection small this is perfect. I really love my Tarteist pro glow, I think you will too!
If you have questions comment below, we’ll talk! Also whats your favorite highlighters?
Ok ladies and gents in my daily offline life I struggle with acne of some sorts. Whether its the monthly “fun time” breakout or the evil black heads buying property on my t-zone. Neither are fun and more importantly sometimes it hurts! Since about 15 I have tried hundreds (yes hundreds) of treatments, washes, DIY’s, home remedies, lotions, etc. you name it I’ve probably tried it. Some have worked and others have not.
Today I’m here to talk about over night pimple cures! Could it really be that simple? Well we have two products the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion which for most is a cult classic and Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers! Both claim to about the same thing applied two different ways. I have two under the skin buddies that need to be gone asap. On my chin, I will be using the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion because of the uneven area it’s in. The other on my cheek which is where I will be using one of the Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers because that area is flat. In the morning I will check each one to see if they both really do what the claim. ZZZZzzzzz (“8 hours” later… more like 5)
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: Claims to draw out impurities from the skin. Costs $17.00 for 1fl oz. Strong smell, drys pink, the bottle must stay upright and unshaken but can be put anywhere on the face even in tight spaces.
Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers: Claims to work like a sponge to absorb pus and oil. Costs $8.00 for 36 covers. It has no smell, can be worn during the day under foundation, clear, comes in two sizes (large and small) but must be put on flat parts of the face.
When I woke up the next day I was pleasantly surprised and sorta disappointed at the same time. Ive been using the cult classic (drying lotion) for a while now and it did not hold a candle to the acne covers! The drying lotion had drawn out the impurities but its now a white head. I got over to my cheek and the spot where I put the absorbing acne cover has pretty much cleared up, it was smooth to the touch as well! Plus as a side note the skin around where I had put the drying lotion was completely dried out. The covers however did not dry my skin.
So, in the end I say the Nexcare Acne Absorbing Cover was the true winner. Let me know in the comments below what you guys think! Have any of you tried these?
Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Easter, I know I did.
I’m absolutely stunned at the love and generosity my family showed this year. I woke up Sunday morning, went downstairs and boom! Have you ever been wrongly seduced by the beautiful perfume bottles of the world? So have I, don’t feel bad, I get to the counter and bam I’m hooked! The chic little bottle is filled with all your next memories… but wait $120 dollars? Okay okay Victoria calm down lets think about this… Is it worth it? Now that is the question!
Ive grown to have a fine taste in perfume. YSL, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Dior you name it most likely I love it! I recently was gifted Alien by Thierry Mugler. I had been lusting over this perfume for years! Ive been using Alien for awhile now and I have some thoughts.
One: The scent is beautiful
Two: It stays all day long, I mean I can smell it while I’m doing the laundry
Three: I get many compliments on it when I wear it
Four: There is nothing else like it
Five: Its refillable!
So, my verdict? 100% worth it! Now I know its a steep price for perfume ($80 for the smallest bottle) but lets face it its absolutely amazing. Here’s a tip from this girl to the rest to help save a little. Stick to one or two perfumes at a time. Theres no point to have a shelf full to go bad. That is money wasted! Nothing is better than having one signature scent people know you by.
Welcome to the real side of beauty! Here you will find my personal opinions on today’s latest beauty trends and must haves. I will be comparing makeup and beauty products to see what’s worth it and what’s not so worth it. Because we have all been there, you see your favorite beauty icon using a $40 lipstick that couldn’t be more of a disappointment then your last relationship. (Ok maybe that’s a bit harsh, but come on I want my $40 dollars back!)
And who may I be you ask? Well, hi I’m Victoria; I live in a small town in Maryland that provides a pretty unglamorous life. But don’t you worry I’m like the Sarah Jessica Parker of my small town USA. I am a cosmetologist by trade and a diva by birth. (Does anyone say “diva” anymore, lets hope)
I guess you can say I’m your typical girly girl. I love makeup, getting dressed up, and shopping of course. Then there’s my more wholesome side that likes knitting, crafting, hanging out with my girls and READING! Ugh I can’t get enough of those terrible romantic novels. (Oh yeah and classics)
One day I wish to work for a major makeup company, who knows maybe my own! (I mean a girl can dream can’t she?) But for the time being I slave my days a way doing hair and makeup! I couldn’t ask for a better life or a better bunch to share it with.
So, now I’ve decided to write this blog to help people get the real side of beauty. I hope you enjoy this journey with me!
