DIY Body Scrub + Update!

Hey everyone! Long time no chat. The past week or so I’ve had a few personal/family things come up that needed my full attention. I’m finally back and ready to get back in my normal blogging routine.

So, a little story time, I’ve notice my skin has been a bit dull lately and I figured a good body scrub would be the trick. I went into Ulta because they now sell the Frank coffee scrubs, I was super excited btw, and come to find out they do not carry it in my store. Well, that was a bust! Instead of ordering it online and waiting for it to get in I just made my own.

It was amazing! My skin feels so smooth and soft, the smell is so good too. Plus that dull look is completely gone. The scrub turned to coffee as I rinsed it with warm water. The scrub was a lot of fun to make and apply.

Body scrub recipe:
Coffee (ground up)
Brown sugar
Course Salt
Avocado Oil
Olive Oil
Filter waterIMG_2880

I mixed it all together and applied it that night. I used more dry ingredients than liquid, but I didn’t use any exact amounts. I just eyeballed it till it looked super thick. The oils can be substituted for what ever you have!

I applied it just like body wash and then rinsed. I then used body wash because of the left over oils and such. It is very messy just fyi!

I will be trying the Frank body scrub as soon as it comes in the mail! To see if mine is comparable, mine costed around $2 dollars to make because I had most of the ingredients on hand. The Frank body scrub is about $17.

Well, if you have any questions or concerns let me know in the comments. Lets chat!

Question of the day- Have you tried the Frank body scrubs?

Metallic Tattoos?

Hey everyone! I hope all is well. I can not believe it’s Summer already…. it’s NUTS!

So, recently I’ve been in a very festival mood (though I’m not attending any this year!) All day I look on YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and see these amazing new festival trends and looks.

Among my favorites are flash tattoos! Last year my mom had gifted me a pack from Flash Tattoos and a Little Mermaid pack from Spencers. They have been sitting in a drawer waiting for me to give them life! But wait… there’s more: I found a pack of generic metallic tattoos at a DOLLAR TREE. The bargainer inside me flipped out.

Today, I will be trying out all three packs and giving you a henna-like hand look. IMG_2839IMG_2840

(Pointer fingers as well as ring fingers are the dollar store tattoos. Middle fingers are the flash tattoos, and the pinkies are the Spencers set.)

My thoughts on the quality of each set was that they are all pretty much the same. The Flash of course worked a lot better because the backing was more sticky, so it stayed in place. My only complaint for the dollar store ones was that they don’t completely dry on the skin as well as the Spencers and Flash Tattoos do. If you’re only wearing them for a day it’s totally fine.

A few tips I have when applying these is to use rubbing alcohol on the area where your going to place the tattoo for a better stick. LET THE TATTOO DRY.

If you have any questions or concerns leave them in the comments. Lets chat! As well if you would like me to do more festival tutorials!

Question of the day- Are you going to any festivals this year?

All Liquid Lips Are Not Created Equal

Hey everyone! As usual I hope all is well. Recently, I picked up the new Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick. So, I started thinking wow I really only wear like one shade of lipstick …. No really I have a few different liquid lipstick from a few different brands. Why not compare them? I mean I am a blogger that’s what I do!

I chose five different brands (same color sorta): Let’s grade these by application, pigment, feeling on lips, smell, does it smudge and how hard it is to take off?

First we have Lime Crime: 5/10
Color-Bloodmoon
Application-It’s pretty liquidy and patchy
Pigment-Very well pigmented, does stain lips (and hands and face and every other thing it touches)
Feeling-Has the typical dry tacky feeling
Smell- Smells good
Smudge? Yes
It is so hard to take off….IMG_2794

Jeffree Star: 4/10
Color-Androgyny
Application-It was ok to apply better than the lime crime
Pigment- Very pigmented
Feeling-Super dry on the lips
Smell-The smell was horrible
Smudge? Yes
Makeup wipe took it off ok.IMG_2795

Kat Von D: 7/10
Color: Lolita
Application- Applies smooth, not patchy, dries quickly
Pigment- Very good pigment
Feeling- Felt dry but not as bad as the Lime Crime or Jeffree Star.
Smell- No smell
Smudge? Not really
Makeup wipe works!IMG_2796

Nxy Lingerie: 9/10
Color- Lipli
Application- Its creamy, very smooth and STAYS put
Pigment- Is really good
Feeling- Not tacky at all
Smell- No smell
Smudge? Nope
Makeup wipe for the win. IMG_2797

Wet n Wild Catsuit: 8/10
Color- Rebel Rose
Application- Smooth, applies well
Pigment: Maybe a little lighter than the rest but still good
Feeling- Felt like nothing
Smell- Once again no real smell
Smudge? None
Makeup takes it all off!IMG_2798

You might be thinking I’m really harsh with my ratings, but honestly I’m not the biggest fan of liquid lipsticks. So, it does take a lot to impress me.

Shout out to doing this in all one day! My lips are so sore and swollen from all the removal! YIKES…

Well, if you any of you have any questions or comments don’t forget to tell me. Lets chat!

Wet n Wild Makeup Brushes

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m enjoying that spring/summer is here, even though fall is my favorite season. That being said every year (it never fails) I always get sick around this time. Shout out to allergies!

Moving on to what this blog is really about: wet n wild makeup brushes! Now, I have a mixture of different brands of brushes ranging from high end to affordable. Awhile back I saw that wet n wild had introduced a new line of two toned brushes and they were PINK (my favorite color.) I knew I had to give them ago. To my surprise I went to my local dollar tree and they were there! Most of the brushes from this collection that I own I have picked up at the dollar tree.

Below is the list of brushes I own from the collection-

IMG_2771Eye Brushes:
– 2 Angled Liner Brushes (Eyebrows)
– Smokey Liner Brush
-Large Eye Shadow Brush
-Small Eye Shadow Brush
-Two Crease Brushes (Blender)

IMG_2770Face Brushes:
-Large Concealer Brushes
-Flat Top Brush (Foundation)
-Contour Brush (Bronzer)
-Fan Brush (Highlight)

IMG_2772I really like most of these brushes, the concealer and the foundation brushes I don’t use pretty much ever. Not because of the quality but because I use makeup sponges instead of brushes. The quality for all the brushes are great! I have not had any loose fibers or shape issues. The brushes clean very well, but some have stained which is annoying (I’m a complete freak about this). I highly recommend these brushes!

Question of the day: Favorite makeup brush brand and brush that they make?

My Four Most Worn Pieces of Jewelry

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. First, I wanted to give you an update about the blog. I will be changing some of my days that I post, I will still be uploading three times a week.

So, today I wanted to share my four most worn jewelry pieces. Most of these I have received as gifts or pieces my mother has handed down to me.

  1. My gold Alex and Ani chain necklace with a moon crystal: I received this set as a Christmas gift last year. You can buy other charms for the chains but I really only like the moon crystal.moon
  2. One silver and one gold bangle. I bought these in a little boutique at the beach near me. They are very bendable and have completely lost their original shapes. I probably wear these the most! moon2
  3. My next piece is four rings, two of them were handed down to me by my mother and two of them I bought. The purple stone ring came from Alex and Ani, the matte gold hexagon ring was bought at target. IMG_2706
  4. These diamond earrings were gifted to me by my family for my 18th birthday. IMG_2707

If anyone wants to see a full jewelry collection I would be more than happy to do so.

Question of the day- “What is your most worn piece of jewelry?”

Skin Care Obsessed

Hey everyone, I hope you guys are doing well! So, like the title says I’ve been skin care obsessed… well face mask obsessed. A little back story (which I have explained before) I’ve suffered from serious acne for a long time and my skin has FINALLY (at 23) started to give me a break!

Today, Im going to share my favorite DIY face mask and a little review on the E.L.F. Pore refining brush and mask tool!  mask1maks3

I’m a detox freak! Anything with clay I’m hooked so, when I saw one of my favorite youtubers use the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay I freaked out! I knew I had to try it. So, I used one tbs of the clay powder and 2 tbs of distilled water. And the skin game was changed forever! It helps with raw break outs as well as helping keep away new skin impurities.

P.S. Please make sure you have distilled water! I use filtered warm water. Trust me you do not need more junk on your skin. mask2

Now, onto the new E.L.F. brush- I’m a use your hands for everything type of girl. Thats not always good because your hands have a lot of bacteria on them. The top of the brush is a tool to apply a mask. It’s taking a little bit to get used to applying small amounts slowly with the tool and not my fingers. I do enjoy the fact that it’s more cleanly for my face. Also, the bottom is a pore refining brush and I love it! It really does get into my pores and cleans out all the gunk. And hey for $5 bucks I think it’s totally worth it! maks5

Spa Days With My Mama

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! Today is a super exciting blog post because I will be joined by my mother Jen.

A little back story; my mom is definitely the one who started my beauty craze. I remember laying in her lap as she applied a very “bold” smokey eye, with EYELINER, after I would beg her! She used an Almay trio palette for green eyes. I was probably around 12 years old (2006-ish). The first time I walked out and my dad saw me he practically died! I remember him telling my mom that I was not allowed to leave the house… then my mother said “Roland she would never leave the house with that much makeup”. Little did they know that I would leave the house years later with a pound of it on my face! spa2

Recently I purchased a jar of the Dr. Brandt Magnetight Age Defying Magnetic Mask. I decided that I would use it on my mom, she deserves a little TLC every once in awhile. I would say her skin has an oily t-zone and is very dry around the edges. I’M NOT SAYING HER SKIN IS AGING…. So anyways, I asked her a few questions while she was wearing the mask and after! spa1

First question: How do you like the application? “Its super easy, anyone could do it.” -Mama

How does the mask feel on your skin? “It feels like there is nothing on my face. It’s smooth!”-Mama

How does it smell? “It smells like the tea we brew… not like the Wawa tea but the good kind. Like green tea.”-Mama

How does it feel to remove the mask with a magnet? “Really cool! It feels like light tickles.”-Mama

How does your skin feel afterwards? “Like fake skin.. You know what I mean?”- Mama “Yeah mom I know what you mean.” -Me

How does your skin look afterwards? “The pores are cleaned out! Look at my nose Vic.” -Mama (Presses nose in my face) “Yeah looks good.”-Me

She gives it a 9/10. Mom was so impressed by the mask, she’s still most likely admiring herself.

The mask itself is $24.00 for a travel size. It has about three applications.

Question of the day?- Does anyone have any good mask recommendations? For Mom or me? Let me know!

Tarte Make Believe In Yourself: Eye Look

Hey everyone as promised, I’m coming to you today with an eye look completely done with the Tarte Make Believe In Yourself palette!

(Mini Review) This palette was a dream to work with the shadows were so creamy and the pigmentation was great. Barely any fall out and it didn’t clump up. all the colors were easily blended! I’m so glad I picked up this palette.

First, I used my Urban Decay primer potion all over the lid and brow bone.
-I placed tape on the corner of my eye.
-I took Myth and blended it my crease.
-I placed Mystic all over my lid.
-Taking my Urban Decay liquid liner I made a pretty defined wing.
-I took off the tape and curled my lashes.
-I applied the middle highlight color to my brow bone.
-To finish it all off I applied essence lash princess to my top and bottom lashes.tar2tar3

After all this was said and done, I just did my typical face makeup. If anyone would like a tutorial on my daily face makeup routine let me know.

If anyone has any questions or comments please leave a comment below! Lets chat!

Question of the day- What do you think of bright colored eyeshadows?

Tarte Make Believe In Yourself First Look

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been super well. I’m coming to you with a first look on the new Tarte Make Believe in Yourself.

The color selection is beautiful, there is a good mix between neutral and “fashion” colors. There are ten shades of eye shadows around the palette and one cheek shade in the center. The pigment pay off is really good. Nine of the shadows are shimmery and one is matte (Myth). The cheek shade is definitely a highlight shade.tarte4

Starting with the matte Myth and working clockwise:tarte1tarte3

This is the time I’m going to throw in that the palette also smells amazing! Just like cocoa!

The packaging is well-made. There is a large mirror and a beautiful piece of art on the front.tarte2

My next post will involve a makeup look from this palette as well as a much more in-depth review on how the colors actually perform. If you have any other comments or concerns don’t be shy, just leave them in the comments below! Lets chat.

Question of the day- What are your thoughts on Tarte eyeshadows?
